Outdoor advertisements are fast becoming a major visual element in our built environment and they characterize many shopping malls and streets in our city-state. They do not only provide a strong visual presence, but they can also create buzz and add vibrancy to the streetscape. Therefore, it is important that outdoor advertisement signage and signboards are properly displayed, well-maintained and safe. In addition, their design has to be compatible with the overall planning intention of the place and location at which they are displayed especially for conservation buildings.
